If only vanity were our only sin: if it were, we would feel some shame for Googling ourselves.
As pride is by far the greater affliction round these parts, we can admit to the vanity in order to share what we’ve just found: an incredibly thoughtful, detailed article on SummerWinter, and our place in the Australian cultural landscape, on the Cultures In Between blog.
Thank you, mystery blogger with amazing taste, we appreciate your time and thought – you’ve made us think a little bit harder about what we’re doing here.

The coolest girl in the world, a.k.a. M.I.A, loves Aussie designers to bits. Maya has been rocking Romance Was Born since her show in Sydney last year, and can be spotted wearing a few of their shiny happy pieces in her UK tour video. She hasn’t taken her Nobody hoodie off all through Northern Hemisphere winter – she’s been wearing it to gigs, signings, and in her Paper Planes video too!

Here she is rocking the Nobody hoodie while on stage with Spank Rock. If that’s not proof we’ve got the coolest designers in the world, then we don’t know what is!

The world is waking up to the incredible beauty of Abbey Lee Kershaw: and we couldn’t be prouder if we’d birthed the divine creature ourselves.
By the world, we mean almost every designer at New York Fashion Week, where Abbey Lee reigned as the new queen of the catwalk (appearing in 31 shows). And we mean the clever people at Gucci, who liked what they saw and quickly snapped her up to walk exclusively in their show, in Milan. And of course we mean the even cleverer types at models.com, who along with SummerWinter, have been in love with the girl of the moment for longer than most: they’ve been predicting big things since December.
Not that we’re the type to brag, but we were onto her first – Christopher Ferguson was so smitten with Abbey Lee he took her away and shot not one, but two editorials with her (see the gorgeous Global Warming shoot and the Set The Soundtrack piece in the most recent issue) – we even featured Abbey Lee in Last Light, shot by Michael Corridore.

The results of Chris’ shoot were so beautiful, we made Abbey Lee our cover star! We’ve got all our fingers and toes crossed that she keeps on wowing the world, taking that beautiful Australian style with her. We can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!
